Please Help “100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida

There is nothing more heart wrenching than learning about what is happening to domesticated animals in our own backyard.
Hundreds of dogs and cats are being driven out to the Everglades and abandoned by their owners. After being subjected to the elements which include harsh weather, predators, parasites, and starvation these animals are suffering and dying by the dozens. “When I learned about what was happening to these beautiful defenseless animals I knew I had to take a stand and get involved,” Dr. Robert Buzzetti owner of Imperial Point Animal Hospitals in Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach, Florida.Dr. Buzzetti and his associates, Dr. Gary Edelson, Dr. Summer Heyerly, and Dr. Tracy Hutson have all teamed up with Amy Restucci of 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida to bring medical care, safety, and awareness to these animals and help stop this epidemic of needless abandonment and cruelty. Almost 400 dogs and over 30 cats have been rescued in only a few months. Amongst the animals rescued was Spirit, a friendly German Shepherd who only had three legs, heartworm disease and internal parasites. One of his rear legs had been severed after he was left to fend for himself in the Everglades by his owner a few weeks ago. “What people don’t understand is that these animals are domesticated and don’t know how to survive on their own. It is only a matter of hours or at most days until these animals become afflicted with life threatening conditions if they don’t starve to death first,” Dr. Gary Edelson. Spirit was treated at Imperial Point Animal Hospital and has since been adopted out to a loving forever home.If you know someone who can no longer care for their dog or cat please take a stand and educate them on their options. Bringing your pet to a No Kill Shelter or helping to network them to friends or family who may be interested in their pet is the best option and helps to ensure that these animals will be responsibly cared for and rehomed instead of abandoned. If you are interested in adopting a cat or dog that has been rescued and is in need of a home check us out on facebook: Imperial Point Animal Hospital as well as 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida.Imperial Point Animal Hospital is located at
